Shopping in Kuta

We took the free shuttle into Kuta after breakfast this morning. It drops you off in front of the Discovery Mall in Kuta. Instead of starting there, we walked the streets to shop in the markets. Again, we bartered with the local shop owners and again git some good deals and some not so good deals. We walked down to Lippo mall. This was a nice change of pace from the street vendors calling you over, the taxis honking and every other person trying to take you on a tour to Ubud or to a temple.
In the mall, you are free to browse without getting hounded which was nice. Now that being said, things are more expensive. But it was a price we were willing to pay for a but of air conditioning and some freedom. We continued our stroll just a bit further down the street to Dip Dock. This restaurant features tables facing the street with the bottom 8 inches submerged in cool water. We put our feet in and enjoyed the refreshing meal. We were very satisfied with the food here!
After we finished lunch we started walking back, and stopped at a few more local shops. Taking another break from the heat and the street shops, we went into the Discovery Mall. Again, it was nice to browse without feeling pressured. We got some icecream, explored a bit and before we knew it, it was time for our shuttle to pick us up again.
We hurried back to our room to change into our seam suits and went to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. We had sushi at the restaurant in the resort for supper. And just like that, the day has come and gone once again.Read more
