Flughafen Suvarnabhumi (BKK)

🇩🇪 Angekommen am Flughafen, fand ich mich zufällig gleich am richtigen Eingang wieder. Die Verständigung mit meinem Taxifahrer gestaltete sich schwierig. Mein Flug war mit Air Asia, mit denen ich bereits von Bali nach Bangkok geflogen war. Air Asia ist bekannt für ihre günstigen Tarife, und ich hatte bereits auf dem ersten Flug festgestellt, dass sie diesen Ruf ernst nehmen: Es gibt weder Bordunterhaltung noch kostenloses Wasser während des Fluges.

Am Flughafen lief alles sehr zügig ab. Hauptsächlich gab es Kiosks, an denen man sein Gepäcketikett selbst ausdrucken und anbringen konnte. Dadurch gab es keine Warteschlange am Check-in-Schalter. Auch die Sicherheitskontrolle verlief reibungslos ohne Wartezeit. Lediglich bei der Grenzkontrolle musste ich kurz etwa fünf Minuten anstehen. Insgesamt dauerte der gesamte Prozess vom Eintreffen bis zum Durchgang keine 15 Minuten, sodass ich mich schnell in Richtung meines Gates und der nächstgelegenen Business Lounge begeben konnte.

Hier sitze ich nun, habe alle anstehenden Arbeiten erledigt und bereite mich auf den Abflug vor. Wir sehen uns auf der anderen Seite!

🇺🇸 Upon arriving at the airport, I fortunately found myself right at the correct entrance. Communication with my taxi driver had been challenging. My flight was with Air Asia, the same airline I used for my Bali to Bangkok flight. Air Asia is well-known for its budget-friendly fares, and I had already noticed on my first flight that they take this very seriously: there is no in-flight entertainment and not even water is free during the flight.

The airport process was incredibly swift. There were primarily kiosks where you could print and attach your luggage tags yourself, which meant no queue at the check-in counter. The security check was also smooth, with no waiting. I only had to wait about five minutes at passport control. From start to finish, the whole process took less than 15 minutes, allowing me to quickly head towards my gate and the nearest business lounge.
