    Decided to stay another day and let the F6 winds blow out. A bit nicer tomorrow it seems, and of course HW Padstow (0932) is an hour later, so an extra hour in bed before departing. Should be underway sometime after 0730 as we need to settle up and return our key fob. Recognised wisdom is to always arrive or depart Padstow at 2 hours before HW Padstow. Having seen the Doom Bar getting frothy around LW we can see why.

    Took the ferry over to Rock, on the opposite side of the Camel River. Once upon a time Sharps Brewery was there but it seems the corporations (Molson/Coors, that well known ‘British?’ brewer did what corporations do and shifted the operation up to Burton on Trent where, I understand, the fresh water is excellent for brewing. Still, a bit of a shame as another local business shifts.

    Lovely walk along the Camel River. The sandy beaches are exquisite. The ferry runs up on to the beach in different places when the tide is low, so you have to keep an eye out for it.

    80 miles to Milford Haven, tomorroe so we will be keen to get going
