Splugenpass (Alps)

The lower section of the pass leaving the town of Splugen had five switchbacks. The upper section had sixteen switchbacks !

At the summit of the pass was again another border, this time crossing into Italy. On the Italian side of the pass is Montespluga, a small village which is cut off from both Italy and Switzerland during the winter.

Going up was one thing, but the decent going down was hair-raising. Going to need need new brake pads after today.Read more
