From the North Sea, to what I have just learnt, is the Ligurian Sea, and an awesome swim.

Cinque Terra (IT)

Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera, comprising of five small coastal villages. Made use of a boat tour to visit the villages. These hamlets either cling to the cliff face Czytaj więcej
Lucca (IT)

Yesterday on the way to Lucca must be the hottest that I have ever cycled in (43 °C).
Today was a day exploring Lucca, famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls.

Pisa (IT)

It is believed that the city of Pisa was founded on the shore and was a maritime city, however with sediment deposits it now lies 10km inland from the shore.

San Gimignano (IT)

Back on the bike again today after being spoilt rotten by Morris & Jenny in Lucca. Going to miss the company, good food, cold beers, and most definitely the swimming pool !

Siena / Buonconvento (IT)

The route has been mainly on the tar, but a few more dirt roads today. Siena was amazing, so much going on there !

Bolsena (IT)

A day of mixed fortunes. Tyre burst and ripped to shreds in the middle of nowhere. Put on my sad look face and rang a doorbell at a small factory. One of the workers loaded me, my bike and all my bags Czytaj więcej
Sutri / Lake Bracciano (IT)

Unplanned stop at a Roman amphitheater carved into tufa rock that dates back to the end of the 2nd century and could seat up to nine thousand people.

Rome (IT)

Arrived in Rome yesterday, again using the waterways to navigate into a city, this time making use of the Tiber river (3rd longest river in Italy). Once in the city then over to the GPS for the last Czytaj więcej
Vatican City (VA)

The worlds smallest independent international state, a walled off enclave within Rome, and home to approx 800 people.
Consisting of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Bascilica, and of Czytaj więcej
