First up we made a quick trip into JB hi-fi to replace Ben's phone, which never recovered from its swim at Katherine Gorge. Then we spent the remainder of our first day in Darwin at the waterfront lagoon, swimming and lounging about. Eva befriend another 4 year old girl called Eva, and they played happily until the other Eva had to leave with her family, while Millie borrowed their beach toys and kept herself amused.
We were fortunate to be there for the annual Vietnamese lantern festival happening at the waterfront that afternoon and evening, so made the most of the activities on offer - face painting and paper lantern making, balloon animals, and the girls each received a pre-made rabbit mask from the mask painting stall as there wasn't any room for more painters - a sweet gesture, but in the dark the masks are definitely a little Donnie Darko-esque! We enjoyed some Vietnamese street food for dinner, explored the playground, then took in the musical and dance entertainment on offer.Read more
