    Up the coast to Boston

    April 13, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

We left at 10am and decided to just drive the whole way and get to Boston (2 hours).. we listened to some guide books on the way up and drove straight into the City to do the North end (little Italy) and some of the Freedom trail.
The freedom trail is a 2.5 mile trail of red bricks in the ground going past all of the historical POIs.
Basically the British tried to invade and force all the Americans to drink tea. They didn't like this so they decided to throw all the tea in the river (The Boston Tea party) and there was a massacre (The Boston Massacre) where 3 people died. This was the start of the American Revolution. All because of tea.. 🤷‍♀️
All the guides say that when in Boston you have to eat Canolis from Mike's pastry.. we learnt something today.. we don't like Canolis 🤮
$24 to park for 2 hours to spend $10 on Canolis to throw them in the bin..
It was 25 degrees in the City and we were baking hot as both of us dressed all in black.
Bit of a weird time to be travelling I think, as we cannot seem to get clothing right for days out 🤣 it's been all kinds of weather and can change in an hour.. with temperatures of 2 degrees to 25 degrees. Hotel rooms have either been wayyy too hot or freezing cold too. And no duvets! I mean, how can you not have duvets? Just a sheet and a blanket.. bonkers.. and the toilets, don't get me started on the toilets 🤣🤣 why do you need to inspect your poop on those ledges? And I don't even want to know how a guy sits down for a poop in some of them as the water is like.. right there 🙊🙈
Anyway, just arrived at the Ramada Hotel in Boston and it seems to be the best so far.
Air con on full.. 4 pillows each! 4!! and a kind of thin little duvet.
Driving in the City was stressful.. there's lots of tunnels where "GPS signal lost" not great when you're in an underground labyrinth like in the photo 🤣
