    Flights and Arrival

    After a 4 day festival and picking Tawna and Brandon up from Heathrow I was absolutely shattered. I had to work until the last minute and literally packed just as the taxi arrived to take us to Bournemouth Airport. It is so easy to fly from Bournemouth compared to Heathrow. Bonus seating too.. I only checked in online as we walked through the airport doors and must have been the last to do so as I got front row seats with 2 empty seats next to me. Whoop whoop.. and weirdly right next to Tawna who had checked in weeks ago 🤣
    The flight was over in the blink of an eye after the long haul flights in the last year.
    We took an Uber to the apartment which was easy and about a 20 minute drive.
    The outside of the apartment building looks shocking.. I was shocked.. then realised we were on the 4th floor and no lift... but, the inside of the apartment was amazing. Pure luxury, air con, giant beds and 3 bathrooms. Happy days.. oh, and 2 minutes from the waters edge.    Read more

    Zadar Port and old town

    The old town was literally outside of the apartment block. We crossed a foot bridge called Gradski Most. Tawna had chosen a restaurant for dinner so we took a slow meander across the bridge to the other side.
    This being a walled town full of historical buildings and a large park. Lots of lanes with cute shops and cafe bars and restaurants.
    The architecture is beautiful and so varied.. from one extreme to another. Beautifully mainted buildings and absolute car crashes covered in Graffiti.    Read more

    Dinner at Butler Gourmet and Cocktails

    Tawna chose this place as it had great reviews and it didn't disappoint. It was really busy when we got there about 7pm and we had a fairly long wait until they got us a table but they had a good queue management system and we sat outside on the terrace looking at the menus and the view until they were ready for us.
    The food took a long time too but we weren't in a rush and the cocktails and mocktails were good.
    We ended up eating around 9pm and it was worth the wait..
    I had a hand rolled seafood pasta called Pljukanci and OMG it was too die for. The texture wasn't like pasta it was more "doughy" kind of like Gnocchi.
    It was that good I've been craving going back since I had it...

    Bimble into the old town

    So the day started with a continental breakfast and a wander back across to he old town to explore. We went inside the walls this time and it is just incredible. I love it here.
    It was really busy, lots of tourists but hardly heard any English speaking at all. The touristy shops sell just about everything. It was sooo hot inside the walls.Read more
