Krakow Poland

A long weekend in the historic & picturesque city of Krakow - a city of lilacs as the trees were blooming on every street & corner.
Krakow claims the largest city square in Europe - and it was a short walk from our Hotel Anders and became the focal point of our evenings as we enjoyed good food, the outdoor market and the hourly bugler from the cathedral clock tower.
And the fruit vodkas added to the fun !
We took a tour to Auschwitz against my better judgement and I didn't feel that the guided tour experience allowed me to give the place the emotional respect it deserved.
I preferred the city with its old buildings - mostly rebuilt after the war which devastated the country - and the curious burial mound outside the city. It was a charming place and somewhere I would visit again.Läs mer
