• Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday, 20 April, would've been our 51st wedding anniversary had my lovely Peter still been here.
I am so very lucky to have such great friends who have always been here to make such difficult days more bearable for me.
Yesterday I spent the day with Irene and Jeanette, both widows. And what a coincidence, Jeanette was married on exactly the same day and same year and we both lost our husbands in 2021.
We visited nearby Heritage Bakery, a craft based Christian Community. It's lifestyle and culture stresses simplicity, self sufficiency, co- operation and quality craftmanship. The group here in Sedgefield currently have fellowships in America, Israel, New Zealand and Mexico.
Heritage Bakery is set amongst the trees and certainly there is a lovely ambience of peace and serenity.
We had a really tasty pizza for lunch. Everything is homemade and home-grown and you could even taste the freshness of the tomatoes used as a base.
After a lovely chilled lunch we went to Irene's where we spent the afternoon playing Rummikub over a few glasses of wine 🥂
What could've been a sad day turned out to be a great one spent with lovely ladies.
