• Working Girl: "It's not even leathah"

Before this trip, I watched Working Girl for the first time in decades. Whoa...the fashion, the huge hair, the shoulder pads, the mysogeny, and the power skirt suits with sneakers and socks. But so fun to see NYC as one of the actual characters in the movie.

I needed to work today and I wanted to get out of my hotel room and see what it's like to 9 to 5 in the city (but without the Aquanet) .
So I rented workspace at Serendipity Labs.

    Really glad I did.

I had access to two floors of all kinds of work spaces. Open tables, "phone booths" for video calls, comfy couches and all kinds of desks. And unlimited coffee, tea, and infused water.

It worked. I got a ton of stuff done today. And I felt almost like Melanie Griffith walking with swarms of New Yorkers on my way home.

But since I worked so much, I didn't stop for lunch. So I jumped into Fred's Lobster and got a warm, belly filling bowl of clam chowder.

Good thing it warmed me up because I walked the mile back to the hotel in the rain. The rain ruined my plan of going to the outdoor movie at Bryant Park in the evening but that's OK. I'm taking a Pto day off tomorrow and I gotta plan my adventures.

And tomorrow I'll remember to bring my umbrella.
