Some first impressions of Ayutthaya

This former capital of the ancient Siam (former name of this country before Japanese occupiers started calling it thailand) from 1350 to 1767. Only ruins remain from this former thriving centre of trade, art and culture. But what remains is breathtakingly beautiful. It used to be all golden and full with i don’t know what rich decorations.
