Day 47: Vetralla to Sutri

What a day! It was 30° when I checked at 11 am, and 32° when I arrived at Sutri. Today was hot, and I have no problem admitting that I struggled with the heat. I had to take heaps of breaks and had sweat dripping of me most of the day (grose). Mercifully, there was shade for most of the walk (25.97 km) that was through forest, woodland, kilometres of orchards, tree lined lanes that ended, and peaked, with a finale of walking through an amazingly beautiful path through what looked like rainforest alongside a creek. What a joy that path was! My accommodation tonight is cut into stone, so I'm looking forward to a cool nights sleep. I saw three, smart, pilgrims this morning - all leaving my accommodation very early (obviously to avoid the heat): the first two left at 6 am and the third at 6:30 am.Baca lagi
