• Walking in the Woods

    I wish I could share the smell of the ponderosa forest on a warm day with a slight breeze off the lake. The sounds of the mountain stellar jay echoing back and forth. The calm peacefulness of walking alone with only the friendly chipmunks, sunning lizards and huge squirrels who don't even give you notice as the stuff their cheeks.

    Today I enjoyed a family memory of walking through campgrounds and "checking things out". I wonder if others scope out campers and dream of the one they might one day own or enjoy looking at the different ways families arrange their tents. I can wander around different campgrounds for hours... even as I return to my condo.

    I walked 10, 000 steps for the first time since my multiple knee surgeries and it felt good. This has been a refreshing and relaxing trip.
