    18 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

Just wanted to add a step showing how every other night whilst we've been up here Michael and I wrap ourselves up in spare single bed doonas from the other room WITH the air con on because it's so cosy and watch movies and it's just so cuuuute.Leer más

  • Byron Bay Farmers Market

    19 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Have left Michael at the unit for the day to go with the folks to all the places Michael wasn't keen on but I was hahaha. I'm sure he will have a lovely relaxing day and enjoy the peace and quiet.

First stop for the day is in Byron Bay for the Farmers Market. Lots of different types of people and stalls. Pricing was relatively decent. Bought some donuts for hubby, a lamb samosa (delish), some fruits for dinner, and a matcha latte.

  • Crystal Castles

    19 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Spending most of our day at Crystal Castles, which is a garden park full of natural crystals as well as a range of meditative and Tibetan areas. We did a sound meditation in the sound dome which was very relaxing and the first time I have done a third eye meditation in a long time (very enriching and need to do it more often). The crystals are beautiful and the walks through rainforest are very peaceful.Leer más

  • Tarte Bakery

    20 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Having a quick stop for drinks because of the time difference giving us an hour to kill.

We got a vanilla cruller and some sort of muffin croissant, plus an almond chai and a mango smoothie. Folks had coffee and a bikkie. The cruller was nothing on the crullers we get in Caroline Springs, but the croissant was beautiful, as was Michael's smoothie.Leer más

  • WhiteWater World

    20 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Off to White Water World for the day. It looks like it could rain so hopefully it drizzles and scares the other people away so we can go on more slides quicker!!!!!

The park itself was super quiet which meant very little wait times, which was ideal for us. Got to go on all of the slides, going on many multiple times. The fave as always was the rip, which just hits the spot for both of us in terms of scary, dynamic, and fun. Our last turn made us get stuck and we had to push our way out hahaha.

Stopped for your typical water park grub for lunch. They have frozen cocktails here so Michael had to get the mango one and caught him mid "waterslide ken" selfie hahahaha !

Slides are amazing as always, but boy oh boy do I go down some of them fast! The racer I flew down so fast I grazed my leg because I caught too much air time!

We stopped for ice cream, and the lady gave us the biggest scoops (good coz they were expensive haha). I told Michael to make sure he didn't drop any, and then 5 seconds later... My one scoop dropped! Luckily I have quick reflexes (as we have learnt playing table tennis at the unit with the folks) and caught it 10cm off the ground hahahaha.

Barely any waits on anything and perfect weather. Overall, we did 30 slides across the day, which we worked out to be a slide every 12 minutes. Given that's 30 5 stories worth of flights of stairs, I feel that is a very solid effort, and great bang for buck (and for the butt hahaha)

  • The Last Supper

    20 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

Had a scrumptious dinner at the local Thai restaurant Hot Wok Thai. Everything was delish. Michael ordered satay sticks, roti, dim Sims and five spice calamari with mango aoili (all great but the stars were the dim Sims and the mango aoili) and I had massaman curry with coconut rice.

The folks went with beef satay with veg, and a panang curry.

We even got to take some doggy bags to have for breakfast before we check out of the unit tomorrow morning.

  • Kingscliffe Chill

    21 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Ducked into the salt village market before driving up the road to the main strip for a cuppa before heading to the airport. Very touristy market with a lot of nice things, but we have no room to buy anything hahaha

Iced chai and baby friand for me, and a banana smoothie and caramel slice for hubby. Cafe was called Chouxbox

  • Home Sweet Home

    21 de octubre de 2023, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Have arrived safe and sound after a breezy flight (with the exception of the crazy turbulence 5 mins before landing). Triss was so happy to see us (Ciri is off hiding and will take a good few hours to remember we aren't villains hahaha) and my strawberry patch had a bunch of ripe strawberries ready for eating!!!!

That is the end of a lovely week holiday up in Cabarita Beach 😍😍😍
