One day - many things to do...Pt. 3

🇩🇪Mittlerweile war es 11 Uhr - was sich für uns anfühlte wie 6 Uhr nachmittags ^^ - und wir sind nach einem kurzen Boxenstopp am dritten und letzten Tempel unserer Angkor-Tour angekommen. Mit dem Bus ging es durch die enormen Stadtmauern (8m hoch) der antiken Stadt Angkor Thom, die 9km² war. In der Mitte liegt der ebenfalls sehr imposant aussehende Tempel Bayon, der mit seinen rund 200 in Stein gemeißelten Gesichtern mit zu den bedeutendsten Tempeln gehört.
Hier waren wir noch “nose to nose with Buddha”, bevor es erschöpft zum verdienten Mittagessen ging.
Zurück im Hotel habe ich erstmal noch einen Mittagsschlaf gehalten. Die kurze Nacht und die Besichtigung der Tempel haben ihren Tribut gezollt. Und für den Nachmittag bräuchte man wieder ausreichend Energie....

🇬🇧Reaching the 11am hour mark - which felt like 6pm for us ^^ - we went to the third and last temple on our visit. We took the bus through the enormous city gates (the wall was 8m high) of Angkor Thom, an ancient city build in the 12th and 13th century. It was 9km² big and it’s most important temple named Bayon is located directly in the center. It has over 200 faces of Buddha in over 45 towers which makes it very impressive. We took some pictures going “nose to nose with Buddha” before heading to lunch.
I was pretty exhausted after the morning tour and the short night so I took a short nap after we had gotten back to the hotel. Needed to gather some strength for the afternoon...Читать далее
