    Madrid

    November 15, 2025 in Spain ⋅ 🌧 56 °C

Arriving in buzzing Madrid. (Even more as an NFL match was played Sunday.)
As expected, lovely food and wine, hanging out at Mercado San Miguel, amazing Museo Reina Sofia. On the third day we picked up our autocamper from Indie Campers.Read more

  • Madrid to Burgos

    November 17, 2025 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

After shopping for the trip and for vanlife, we set off for Burgos. Took a beautiful detour into the national park, where the late afternoon sun threw lovely shadows on the quiet soft mountain sides.

  • Burgos to Donostia / San Sebastián

    November 18, 2025 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Waking up to the inherent, but beautiful melancholy of a camp site in November. Chatting with a Swedish couple that needed assistance to take their motorbike! on board their campervan. Then a visit to the absolutely stunning Cathedral in Burgos! (UNESCO World Heritage).
Driving on through more and more mountainous landscapes and finally arriving in San Sebastián, parking in a dedicated autocamper parking spot close to the university.
A lovely seafood infused dinner meal and we were out 😴

  • Capbreton to Bergerac

    November 21, 2025 in France ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

Waking up to find a glorious beach and overall Atlantic Ocean + mountains view at Capbreton 🌊🌊🌊
From there we drove through Les Landes, plenty of forest and arrived in Bergerac to experience a really nice local mini venue and bar Numero 7 and a lovely concert with Noah Reinhardt and students from a local masterclass of his🎸🪗🎻Read more

  • Bergerac to Saint-Cyprien

    November 22, 2025 in France ⋅ ☁️ 1 °C

Waking up on a sports area right next to the River Dordogne. Massive water amounts rushing by with very high speed driving dynamoes - hydroelectrique.
At a slow pace we rolled along the river stopping at smaller villages to inspect and experience both extraordinary houses and dubious cafés 🙃
We decided to settle in at Saint-Cyprien and walked the winding and steep chemins to see both the splendid view, the ancient church and the great, interesting and very old houses of this hillside village.
Back in the autocamper I finally got some necessary desktop work done 🤓

  • Saint-Cyprien to Limoges

    November 23, 2025 in France ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

We continued a lovely drive along the Dordogne River, admiring small villages set on the mountain side, cows and walnut trees. The rain however increased and we had lunch in Saillat and later found shelter in the center of Limoges. Here we took a walk and saw the amazing train station 1920 ies building and Kamma had an Irish Coffee 😁 and we ate some very bland food. Took an early night cuddling up in the autocamper, drinking tea and listening to the rain.Read more

  • Limoges to Tours

    November 24, 2025 in France ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

In Limoges, famous for its porcelain and design we visited the Musée de Beaux Arts and saw some impressive enamel work and other lovely design. The Benedict trainstation is i itself also just a wonderful building.
From Limoges we continued to Tours where we found another great jazz-food-bar place La Strapontin where we had a great meal while listening to really good live jazztrio playing in the next room. Le Strapontin can be recommended.
Unfortunately we ran into an issue with our autocamper, the company had forgotten to let us know that the Spanish gas system wasn't compatible with the French so heating while not driving as well as hot water and gas for cooking was no longer available 🙁. So we had to find hotel accommodation for the night.

  • Versailles to Paris

    November 26, 2025 in France ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

In Versailles we went of course to see the castle. Our admiration for all the crafts people and artists is of course huge, at the same time it's almost repulsive that royalty and upper class produced this excess while huge poverty was present, but the French Revolution rightly of course did away with all this.
We returned our autocamper and went to Paris to hang out, and notably attend the much anticipated Jamiroquai concert!
