Sunday Roast at Joyce's

I was so looking forward to this afternoon with Joyce! She is such a wonderful, warm, and funny person. And she can cook! She proved that again this time. After a warm welcome, I unfortunately had to go to the bathroom very quickly and throw up. But that had nothing to do with Joyce, I was already feeling sick on the way to her place. Whatever it was, after I got rid of it, I was able to fully enjoy the food.

Joyce served us roast beef with baked potatoes, chicken with rice and peas, and mixed vegetables. Although I usually eat little meat, I really tucked in. Thank you, Joyce, for your effort and your hospitality!

But of course, it's not just the food that did us good. It's above all this open, hospitable, family atmosphere that simply touches the heart.

I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Wie ich mich auf diesen Nachmittag bei Joyce gefreut habe! Sie ist so eine wunderbare, warme und lustige Person. Und kochen kann sie! Das hat sie auch diesmal wieder unter Beweis gestellt. Nach einer herzlichen Begrüßung musste ich leider ganz schnell die Toilette aufsuchen und mich übergeben. Das hatte aber nichts mit Joyce zu tun, mir war schon auf der Fahrt zu ihr übel. Was auch immer es war, nachdem ich es los war, konnte ich das Essen völlig genießen.
Joyce servierte uns Rinderbraten mit gebackenen Kartoffeln, Hähnchen mit Reis und Erbsen, dazu gemischtes Gemüse. Obwohl ich ja normalerweise wenig Fleisch esse, langte ich ordentlich zu. Danke Joyce für deine Mühe und deine Gastfreundschaft!
Es ist aber natürlich nicht nur das Essen, was uns gut getan hat. Es ist vor allem diese offene, gastfreundliche, familiäre Atmosphäre, die einfach das Herz berührt.
