On top of Madeira

Yesterday, wie did the most exhausting hike of our lives (so far) - to the top of the highest mountain on Madeira. 🧗
Starting at the top of the ⛰️ pico do Areeio at 1.817m we went down and up to the top of the pico Ruivo at 1861m…. and than back.
The path is very well maintained and attracts many tourists, or in other words… it was very crowded, but the views are stunning!
All in all, we did over 15km including 3766 “stair” steps and 1.095m altitude difference.
Ended the day with well deserved burgers 🍔😌
Today, our bodies are sore. So we are back at the pool, relaxing and having a “cerveja” (or two) and some “bolo de caco”. 🥖Read more
