• Gozo

    April 15 in Malta ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

3 things we are happy about:
    - good coffee
    - cannoli with pistacho
    - no oncoming traffic in narrow streets

We kicked off the day like every day so far: breakfast buffet 🍳🥐
And as usual one starts with the healthy options -Joghurt, oats and fruits
But somehow it turns into three plates and dessert before 10am.

    Next stop: ferry! 🚢
Little Toyota onto the big boat an off to Gozo.

A short ride and hike session later:
The first (of many today) spectacular view.

    Tal-Mixta Cave overlooking Ramla Bay
A cave like a Frame for the golden-red Ramla beach, no the pictures are not color corrected. It is really that colorful!

After all that scenery, priorities shifted: coffee. immediately. ☕️
We stopped at Coffee Circus Joy – and finally found actual good coffee on an island where espresso usually means “fast and strong”

Next: The famous Xwejni Salt Pans 🧂
Endless geometric salt pools carved into the rock – it looked like someone designed the coastline with a ruler.

    Nature kept showing off at
    Wied il-Għasri 🌊
A hidden gorge with powerful waves. Slight effort to get down, but worth it.

Next stop: full-on rugged coastline at
    Dwejra Bay 🌬️
Cliffs, waves, and that raw “edge of the world” energy. We walked around, took way too many photos, and enjoyed the scenery.

    Back to civilization:
    Victoria (Rabat) 🏰
Cute streets, relaxed vibe… and most importantly: food.
We grabbed a cannoli with pistachio 🤤

On the ferry back to Malta we decided to get traditional Maltese food and even picked a restaurant. On the way there we stumbled across a kebab shop… oh well.
