Norman Beach, Wilson's Promontory NP

We, and hundreds of other people are here. Then a little rain and people started to disperse. Very scenic area.

Wilson's Promontory is mostly one large national park. It had probably escaped much development due to the terrain and probably harsh weather.

Today I was surprised by the huge numbers of visitors. The camping area was fully booked out with some vans and motor homes but lots of tent campers.

A sandy ramp runs down to the beach, quite easy going down but the fine sand made the return trip rather tiring. Down on the beach was a spectacular view of the mountain all covered at the top on misty cloud. The other side there were many people walking the track up to a scenic vantage point.

We had very little time to look around and were soon on our way out of the park. A mental note to make a real note to return with a few spare days to explore the many walking tracks.En savoir plus
