Payets Tower

This morning we are up and moving very early, headed for the Townsville common. There are supposed to be about 360 different bird species there.

Surprise! The road has been graded yesterday. It's a stark contrast to the drive in on Thursday. We can comfortably cruise in at about 30kph.

The tower offers a good view over the open wetland area. At only 30m off the road it is very easy to access. Today there are not many birds.Read more
