    Experience the Tarcom Riverwalk Valuable Historic Site

    This is the site of Taroom's first bridge (pictured) which was constructed in 1863 by Mr H Gregory at a cost of 500 pounds.

    This information sign is erected on the cobblestone approach to the former bridge - the stones prevented Logging in the rich black soil of the Dawson River flats.

    Other bridges over the Dawson at Taroom were built upstream near the town centre and can be viewed from sections of the Riverwalk. Four bridges, two stony crossings and a cordaroy log crossing have been built at Taroom.

    The Taroom Riverwalk is a joint venture between the Queensland Government and Caroom Shire Council.
