Swing Bridge at Sale

The historic swing bridge is located on the LaTrobe River about 5 kilometres south of Sale. The bridge has been restored and is a significant heritage listed structure.

The town of Maffra has put in a nice boardwalk to allow one to enjoy the wetlands. Sadly the water is not high at the moment so there is not a lot to see. There is a lagoon on the other side of theBaca lagi
The huge chook.

Driving along the road from Sale towards Maffra, there is a huge chook (chicken for non Aussies) sculpture. Taking a closer look reveals it is the location of a roadside stall selling...... Eggs!Baca lagi
Mitchel River

This was where there was an impressive cliff. We drove to a spot with a view of the cliff then next we drove to the top. It seemed that we would need to take a drive to the other side for a decentBaca lagi
St Mary's Church, Bairnsdale.

This has to be one of the most impressive old buildings around. Not sure of the history but the town is in the process of raising money for repairs. It would be a shame to see such a great oldBaca lagi
Nicholson, Vic

Just where the highway crosses the Nicholson River is a nice rest area. Boats moored the several jettys. The river at this point is tidal so there would be a few feet variation in the water height. AtBaca lagi
Sale Showgrounds

Raymond Island

Metung

This place ended up being one of the great sunsets of this trip so far. We had set up camp for the night at Chinaman's Creek and decided to walk the couple of kilometres to the town. A great littleBaca lagi
Lakes Entrance

Rivers run into the lakes and eventually all flow to the sea through one exit. This is lakes entrance. As you head over the top of the hill before descending down there is a spectacular lookout.

Orbost

On the Snowy River this town has a lovely park area that gets well flooded from time to time. Once you lea e the town you drive along the river as you head down towards the coast.
Marlo

Where the snowy meets the sea. It is interesting how the snowy River runs along the ocean held by a long sand bank. This changes quite a bit over the years and the actual point that the river flows toBaca lagi
Cann River

Cann River is another of the small towns one finds interesting and attractive in Victoria. It's around the middle of the drive from Sydney to Melbourne when one takes the Princes Highway. ThatBaca lagi

Mallacoota

Mallacoota is a fishing centric town. Right on the coast this little town has become a bit popular with tourists. It has one of the largest tourist parks in Australia. Staying here is not cheap and ifBaca lagi
Genoa

The campground at Genoa is one of the best we have stayed at. A great place to relax and enjoy the birds along the river. A short walk over the historic bridge and you are in the old town. Here thereBaca lagi
Genoa school museum

The Genoa school had quite a long history. In the 1990's government closed many small schools, preferring to place young children on busses to larger schools with often long travel time each day.Baca lagi
The scarecrow.

EDEN, NSW

Our first views of Eden. We decided to have lunch here in the park. One of the unique features of this park is the barbeeque with a view.

Stunning views of the coastline from this lookout. The weather in this area was quite clear and sunny.
