After a filling breakfast at the hotel, we got on the bus at 8:30am. As we drove out of the city the snow capped mountains from the night before, were beautiful to look at. As we got further out of the city it became evident that we were in Iceland! White mountains everywhere , so pretty. Just before our first stop , there were these glowing buildings in the distance, it was still early dawn so hard to miss. They ended up being glass greenhouses with Amber lights on! Our first stop was in a national park that had stables with Iceland horses. These horses are equal to our ponies. Real thick manes and short legs. This stop had a lovely gift store that had beautiful shoes from Barcelona. The bathrooms were hand painted murals of barns and horses real 'country '. More gorgeous landscape along the way to the geothermal geysers. Amazing craters, several of them on this lava hillside, filled with bubbly hot steaming water, 80-100c which is 192-232* Fahrenheit , that would get so hot it would erupt and shoot water 100 feet high! It was windy and freezing cold while walking around and looking at these but oh so worth it! We continued throughout the countryside to the spectacular humongous Gulfoss Falls. WOW! Breathtaking! We walked up the ' road to nowhere' to overlook the falls from above. We are talking, cold and windy, but oh so beautiful . We had lunch at the restaurant on top of this mountain. We shared 2 soups, cream of mushroom & Lamb vegetable . Both were tasty and warmed us up. Went to where the Game of Thrones was filmed. Troll holes galore! A lava rock hillside covered in moss with fissures throughout, some with water in between that was so blue and crystal clear! Back into the city by 5pm. We went straight to dinner at The SeaBaron, near the pier. A little shack that had great fish. You select your skewer of fish from a refrigerator case. Many choices. We chose shrimp, scallops, halibut and bluling and a couple of veggie skewers. They grill them to perfection. Walked around the quaint little village like area and then back to the hotel. Another great day!Okumaya devam et
