The harbour at Stykkisholmer. The name means pieces of islands. Another beautiful part of Iceland.
Just before sunset.Basalt rocks formed from lava flow. The famous mountain filmed in Game of Thrones. The glacier behind, came right down to the seaLava flow frozen into the mountain side. This is unique as the flow usually erodes with time. The story is that 4 stones placed in a row measured your strength. Lightest to heaviest.Geoff lifted the lightest which was rated 'useless'. 23 klg. This rock shows the strata bending and swaying.Basalt columns revealed in the hole.Beautiful ocean carved sea arch. I named it the pelvis. This statue depicts the giant man who lived in this part of Snaefelsness.Legend says that he went up into the glacier & didn't return . He didn't die but lives on in nature.
