    Fascinating day. Much of the day spent in Bhaktapur, Nepal amidst a medieval town of brick buildings, Hindu temples, and earthquake damage. After lunch we visited a site on the Bagmati River where the deceased are cremated in a procedure that seems bizarre to us westerners. And sacred cattle were on site. In the evening we listened to a lecture by Maya Sherpa, a native woman who has summitted Mt Everest three times.
