Returned to Kathmandu in the morning by plane. Visited the Patan area, known historically for metal working and now for beautiful ancient temples and a palace. Our evening was spent with a short discussion on the Buddhist and Hindu religions and a dinner in the "mansion" of a prosperous family. (Five employees for the property). The next day we were up early for a flight to Paro, Bhutan, which afforded us great views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest. Paro has the most attractive terminal building I've ever seen. A one hour mountain drive to the Bhutan capital, Timphu, with some explorations of the downtown area from our very nice hotel.Read more
