On my third day in Los Angeles, jet lag still lingers. The city’s golden sun pours in through the curtains by nine in the morning, but my body remains in a daze somewhere over the Pacific. So today, instead of venturing out, I spent the whole day lazily lounging at a friend’s house.
We turned the living room into a makeshift theater, watching old movies projected against a white wall, snacking on chips and homemade salsa. In the afternoon, the friends debated whether to try a new hiking trail or drive to the beach—but in the end, we all just stayed sprawled on the sofa, chatting about everything and nothing, letting the hours slip by like the slow, warm California sunlight.
