Only 38 degrees today!
We had a bus trip to Hollywood and Beverley Hills then explored around the Hotel popping into buildings whenever we could to cool down with the airconditioning. The tour ends today. We have slept in 17 different beds and travelled over 7000km. We have lost count of how many states we have been through. We only had one hour of rain the whole trip, the rest of the time has been sunny and hot ranging from 24 degrees to 44.Read more
We went through a lot of desert on the way from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. We stopped at an old silver mining town on the way. The temperature was 44 degrees but we are getting used to that heat now. This morning we are doing a city tour of LA including Hollywood.Read more
44 degrees today!
2nd day in Vegas. Robin has gone on a trip to Hoover Dam with 3 others from our bus. It feels a bit weird being on my own as he has not been out of my sight since leaving home. I thought I could have a shopping morning while he is gone but shops don't open till 10 and he gets back at 12 so just resting up in my room. It is a palace compared to our log cabin.Read more
A more relaxing day today with time to explore the park on foot or on the free shuttle buses. We even had time to sit on the wooden rocking chairs at the park lodge and enjoy people watching in the shade. 33 degrees today but not humid so quite pleasant.Read more
Some very unusual rock formations today. 33degrees. A dry heat but better in the shade.
Tonight we are in Salt Lake City. We caught the train in from our hotel to look at the Mormon Temple gardens. The gardens are lovely and such a nice place to explore in the early evening when the temperature is still 30 degrees.
Everything was closed in the city as it is Sunday here, but the city is very clean and has a safe feel to it despite us being asked for money several times at the station. The shops look great but unfortunately we leave at 7:45am tomorrow so no time for shopping.Read more
After another day of lovely scenery we went on a chuck wagon ride up into the hills and had a cowboy meal and concert. It was great fun but was quite cool on the way backmdown the mountain.
Yes a bit like that. It had overflow seating on the outside on both sides of the church.
Such a variety of scenery today.
Most of today was spent at Yellowstone and we have another day there tomorrow. We have been travelling through a lot of different scenery up and down some very steep winding roads reaching an altitude of over 12000 feet. Temperature around 30 degrees but it is a dry heat and lovely in the evenings.Read more
