Then Monday to Thursday us four girls (and maybe Andrea) are going to stay at the campground for some sistah time. I have no pictures for today because i had to leave my phone to charge. We went for a nice long bike ride through Long Sault. I didn't realize that the 45th parallel was right here, there's a plaque at Lock 21. When we got to Mille Roche I realized I forgot to put sun screen on my arms. So Ed and I went into town, bought sun screen and cycled all the way back.

Then we had coctails and our 2nd (actually 3rd but 2nd recorded on the trophy) annual washer tournament. Uncle Jim and Tony were the winners. Tony is going to give lessons next year!!

Aunt Luce and Uncle Keith made a nice dinner of bbq'd burgers and salads, plus Aunt Luce's nice lemon pie for dessert. Very delicious.

Josh and Mel came for a quick visit and dinner for Father's day. They are super excited about their new house.

We finished the day off with a campfire. It's so nice to be able to do this stuff with the aunts, uncle's, brothers-in-law and sisters. I am very lucky to belong to such a great family!!

We arrived at Woodlands Campground around 10:30. Keith and Luce arrived early afternoon and then Jim and Mary shortly thereafter. After a game of golf, Tony and Kathy arrived.

Dinner was served by Jim, Mary, Tony and Kathy. It was a nice dinner of roasted veggies, broccoli salad and bbq'd pork roast. Dessert was a pie and Tony's lemon cheesecakes...very yummy.Read more

North Pole Campground in Wilmington, NY

    May 20, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

I am a little late starting my story of our trip to Lake Placid. We left ottawa Friday, it was a beautiful sunny day. Saturday, Kathy and Tony drove us into Lake Placid. On our way we visited John Brown's homestead, the olympic aerial ski jump site, the White Face ski hill and then we did some shopping in the town of Lake Placid. Today, Sunday, is a cool day. We walked to the chocolate store and visited a popular fly fishing spot on the Ausable river.
This is our first trip of the season. We got the camper from the cottage last weekend and had a short week to get it ready to go. There were a few signs of mice and we searched diligently for a nest with no luck. Saturday evening while entertaining Kathy and Tony over dinner, our little whiskered friend showed herself. We didn't catch her but we did find her nest and young family. So New York now has a family of illegal aliens!
