East Java - Mt. Ijen

Today our tour started at 12:15AM 😴😴😴 After sleeping like 3 hours at the previous day we were quite tired 😅 we drove to Mt. Ijen with a car and started our hike at 2:00AM. It took about 3 hours to reach the peak and then go into the crater. Inside the crater we were wearing gas masks because the smoke of volcano contained a lot of sulfur. At times we were standing in the direct smoke and we had to close our eyes (they were burning hard) and could breath heavily.
This area is famous for the sulfur miners. Its was hard to experience that these people are working in these conditions almost every day.Læs mere
