There are approximately 175,000 underground bunkers in Albania! You see small domes all over the place but there are 2 large ones that are particularly well known. We visited the largest one, in Tirana, 'Bunkart 1'. It has 5 floors! There was even a classroom for the officers kids, a shop for them to get their food and a large theatre type assembly hall.
It was nice and cool down there but there was also a really strong smell of some kind of spicy incense/perfume.Read more
