    Dahab

    December 15, 2022 in Egypt

Diving, homeoffice, swimming, taking long walks around the shore, hiking, meeting new people, meeting randomly people who I met in March, small gatherings that's what's summing up my 2 weeks in Dahab. I really love Dahab, I could imagine living there. People are really friendly, it's easy to make good friends. Dahab is very laid back place.Read more

  • Thistlegom

December 28, 2022, Gulf of Suez

Honestly speaking the famous Thistlegom was never on my list and I was not keen to go there. People talked soo much about it, that at some point when there was an opportunity to go there I've chosen to take it.

We had to leave Dahab at 4 am. We went till Sharm-El-Sheikh for one hour, take the boat after for 3 hours to reach the famous wreck. We had to go down on a rope as there is a strong current, which I never had to before, which made me nervous.

Once down at the wreck, all was really cool. The wreck is huge, a lot of things are still in a very good shape. You see the vehicles inside and just swimming slowly through the dark wreck using a torch was an amazing feeling for me. I would go there again, if I get the opportunity again. In my opinion the effort to get there is worth it.

  • Mount Sinai

    December 29, 2022 in Egypt

After going to the thistlegom the day before, one of my dive buddies told me that she will go with her family to mount Sinai for the sunset. I spent already 4 weeks in Dahab in total and have never been there, as I don't like waking up early for the sunrise and usually all tours do the sunrise tour. This felt like a good opportunity finally to go to mount Sinai and I went with them. We left quite early around 9 am to Saint Katherine's with a taxi, hiked there for a few hours till Mount Sinai and waited finally for the sun to go down. It was a really nice trip, should be on everyone's list who is going to the Sinai peninsula.Read more

  • Kairo

    December 31, 2022 in Egypt

After Dahab, Kairo was a big shock for me. Kairo is everything but not laid back, there is a constant honking.
I spent new years on a boat on the Nile with the people from the hostel, which was great really enjoyed it.

I also went to the Islamic quarter and did a free walking tour there and went to the pyramids.
I thought always the pyramids are overrated but honestly it's totally worth visiting them. They're huge and impressive.
