Northwest coastal drive to Durness

Really beautiful drive along the coast today on secondary, mostly single lane roads. Could get a bit hairy coming around blind corners and meeting a motor home coming in the opposite direction, but most drivers were very courteous. There was quite a lot of reversing and squeezing past!
The beaches we saw were stunning with white sand and turquoise water. A couple of brave souls were swimming, but it would have been arctic! Stoer Lighthouse was a wonderful lookout spot.
When we arrived at Durness we visited Smoo Cave, where in the 17th century a highwayman called Donald McMurdo murdered 18 people and threw their bodies through a blow hole into the cave. Charming gentleman!
