Travelled from Durness to Castletown, Thurso today along a lot of single track roads that hugged the coast. First stop was Balnakeil beach. If you look closely you will see cows wandering around on the sand! There was an old church and graveyard next to the beach.
Quick stop at the John Lennon memorial which was pretty uninspiring.
More scenic vistas including a cliff top where we could have gone on a zip line or bungee jumped if we were so inclined. Decided that we didn't have time.😄
Saw Elephant Rock, Verrick Castle and Strathy Point lighthouse on the way. As we neared Thurso the land became much more agricultural. Stayed in The Old Manse which was lovely.Läs mer
