Orkneys to Dornoch Castle

Up at 4.30am to catch the ferry but worth the early start as crossing was very calm. High winds developed once we were on the mainland and we felt like we might be blown off the cliffs at John O'Groats. Got to wear our very well travelled but unworn coats for the first time and were very appreciative of them as we were sleeted on twice!!! Drove slowly down the coast stopping at quite a few coves and castles before arriving at our accommodation at Dornoch Castle. Very atmospheric and a lovely room.Läs mer
