Fermoselle

Walked down to local bakery at about 9.30 to buy picnic supplies - chorizo bread rolls and a tuna empanada. Then began an 11km walk, firstly through the village and then into a national park. Stopped at a visitor centre where a lovely guide told us all about the region. Interesting but too long as our guide had to translate everything! Stopped for our picnic at small local church standing in isolation at the top of a hill. Wonderful view over the Douro and the Portuguese border.
Continued 'up, up,up' as Magdalena says to an even more spectacular viewpoint. Retraced our steps back to the village for much appreciated cold drinks. Late this afternoon we had a tour and tasting at the olive oil museum followed by a fabulous wine and vermouth tasting which was supposed to go for an hour but lasted 2 1/2 ! Finished with tapas then walked home at 10pm and saw a lovely sunset.Baca lagi
