Day trip from Porto

Fun day trip today. A driver took 8 of us to the Paiva walkways and suspension bridge. Lots of steps on walkways before reaching the 516m bridge which is 175m above the ground. Tim crossed the bridge while I took photos! There was then another beautiful walk, which was much flatter, to another much shorter suspension bridge. We then walked uphill back to our van. Drove to a small village where we had a delicious 3 course lunch including as much wine as we wanted and rounded off with liqueurs.
Next stage of our day was a stop at a very touristy supposed fishermen's village where a lot of the houses were painted with stripes.
Last stop was Aveira, where we went for a canal boat ride, wandered around a bit then relaxed with a beer.
Arrived back in Porto about 6pm. Tim and I decided to walk across the two storey bridge to Gaia. Pedestrians can just wander from side to side even though trains go across the bridge every couple of minutes. Great views over the Douro. Very tired legs!!Baca selengkapnya
