46 | Reefton to Christchurch (Lewis Pass

🇬🇧 Our itinerary was very busy, so unfortunately we could only stay one night in Reefton. Before we continued on our way, we walked around town, which has been lovingly preserved in a colonial style, and found a tiny mining museum inside the tourism information/library/council office building - with a real replica mini mine!

We then traveled to Christchurch via Lewis Pass, a scenic mountain road through a rugged alpine landscape. We stopped three times, two spots that Matt recommended us, and one picnic spot near a river.

🇩🇪 Unser Reiseplan war sehr voll, sodass wir leider nur eine Nacht in Reefton bleiben konnten. Bevor wir unsere Reise fortsetzten, spazierten wir durch die Stadt, die liebevoll im Kolonialstil erhalten wurde, und entdeckten im Gebäude der Tourismusinformation/Bibliothek/Gemeindeverwaltung ein kleines Bergbaumuseum – mit einer echten Nachbildung einer Minimine!

Wir reisten dann über den Lewis Pass, eine malerische Bergstraße durch eine raue Alpenlandschaft, nach Christchurch. Wir machten dreimal Halt, an zwei Stellen, die Matt uns empfohlen hatte, und einmal an einem Picknickplatz in der Nähe eines Flusses.Baca lagi
