Vilnus Jewish tour

On Thursday we arrived to Vilnius for our next tango event, and in the morning we took a guided tour of the Jewish Vilnius. We walked around the former thriving Jewish quarter that was turned into Jewish ghetto during the Holocaust. We saw the wall murals that were part of the “Walls that remember” project and the street signs in Yiddish. We saw the statues of some famous Jewish figures: Gaonu, or Genius who was a religious and philosophical thought leader in medieval times, a famous Jewish doctor who became a prototype to Dr Aybolit, and even Leonard Cohen who wrote the song “Dance me to the end of love”.Lue lisää
