• Cotswolds - Burford

    August 5 in England ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

For example, there is a house where lived the man who sold his wife. Apparently, if you wanted to divorce and get rid of your wife, you could take her to an auction and sell her to the highest bidder! In this particular case, the townsfolk disapproved and staged a mob outside this man’s house, banging on pots and pans all night. Interesting traditions.

After Burford, we drove to Stratford-on-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare where we stayed overnight. There were a couple of VoiceMaps there, so k did know in the afternoon. I didn’t finish it, but saw many medieval timber houses.
