6.5 hour layover at JFK after morning flight up from Naples. Hopefully some sleep on the overnight flight. Time actually went pretty quickly as we watched the Guards beat the Tigers to tie up the Wild Card series at a game apiece.Read more

Arrival was the best kind....no issues. Driver took us right to the London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale and we were fortunate enough to get our room immediately. Meeting with our Viking pal Damian Sollesse for dinner. The day of travel was exhausting so our first move was a nap 😘. Enjoyed dinner this evening at the hotel with Damian. Great to catch up and reminisce. Happy anniversary love.Read more

Windsor Castle, Hampton Palace, Abbey Rd

Terrific time with our driver, Dean. We began by driving out to Windsor Castle. It drizzled most of the day but no hard rain at all. It was fun to see the Summer Home for the Queen (although now King Charles apparently is not a fan of mum’s summer place. Later we went to Henry 8’s Hampton Palace, which had multiple lovely gardens as well. We also took a drive through Richmond Park in Richmond Upon the Thames where there 4-5 HERDS of deer. Saw quite a few bucks during the drive. Final stop was the Abbey Road studios and we did the customary cross walk crossing…which is NOT where the actual crossing happened but it’s the tourist locale right next to the Abbey Rd. Studio (and gift shop). Likely will be loading some pics today and then a bunch more tomorrow since the plans tomorrow are much less “historic”.Read more
TravelerI found Windsor Castle to be the most beautiful place/building/home I’ve visited in my life. I found Hampton Court to be absolutely fabulous as well, seeing what everyday life was like for the elite back in those days…

Saturday on our own

Due to weather in Dublin, our planned lunch with Susan Hayes-Culliton VV, was cancelled... so we have a lazy day here in London. Plan is to hit the Greenwood Victoria Pub, official site of Browns Backers of London. Will also add in some photos from yesterday.Read more

Browns Backers Day

Headed over to the London Browns Backers Bar mid afternoon. It's called Greenwood and is a London Sport Pub + Kitchen. It is just 4.5 miles from the hotel and it took 45 minutes in an Uber! Literally 2 minutes from Buckingham Palace, and it was taken over by Browns fans Candyce was in her glory! The menus...a photo booth.Read more

Browns Game Day London Tottenham Hotspur

Great fun today with Browns Vikings game.... despite choking again at the end. We always seem to find a way to give it away. Candyce went to the game with Beth Lyons, a friend and London resident from our Viking World Cruise and her boyfriend Jack. Can share some random pics from the day, including dinner afterwards at an English Pub The Mulberry Bush.Read more

Cliffs of Dover, Castle, Canterbury

Busy day with Dean Bowman our driver. Long drive out to Dover Castle while we started with a drive through historic London. Saw Piccadilly Circus and more. The Dover Castle was very cool, and I trudged up to the top and got a view in every direction. Candyce took my pic and I got hers in the opposite direction. So many photos today that they will have to be included in tomorrow's footprint for our return home day. Left the castle and headed to the White Cliffs... home in front was Ian Fleming's home and where Bond was born. The cliffs were always on my bucket list and didn't disappoint.

Photos in today's footprint take us through Dover: Cliffs and Castle. Tomorrow will be Canterbury City and Cathedral.

Had a classic line uttered by Dean when a driver moved in and cut him off and yelled at our driver: MOVE OVER; to which Dean responded, SHUT UP FATTY. Candyce and I laughed all day at his utterance.

Drive home was much easier....and quicker. Dinner near hotel and packing tonight.Read more

Heading home this morning!

Fantastic trip... despite another Browns loss. Some leftover pics to add later. Happy anniversary my love. We are back in the states and connecting down to Naples in about an hour. I'm going to try and upload some of the leftover pictures from yesterday that didn't fit. Hope I don't have any repeats but we shall see. It was a wonderful trip overall. Only a Browns win could have made it better but we don't even expect or hope for those. The sunset as we were flying home was a perfect cap to the trip! Thank you Lord. Safely back in FLA and woke up to this. Beyond blessed.Read more
