    Day 6 - Sulzenauer Hütte

    26–27 jul. 2024, Austria ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Unlike on previous days, the penguins set off early from the Nuremberg hut. The whole group marched on teewasser and herby bread, off to new adventures, in unknown (wifi-free) land.

The penguins, led by a sense of Prussian trust into authorities, followed the signs towards the Sulzenau hut, on the Stubai Hohenwege.

The Mairspitze (2780 m) was the last hurdle to take, the summit cross of which giving the penguins a notion of powerfulness. From there, we could see the Sulzenau hut, which was, by comparison, easily accessible.

Of the numerous sights the penguins were excited to see on their journey, the lake Grünau ranks first, giving way to frolicking and small naps which were accompanied by refreshingly cool gusts of wind.

The Sulzenau hut (run by the DAV section Leipzig) is the clear winner by providing the best view from its terrace. Which was one of the reasons, a climbing group of mostly older men were showcasing their naked bodies up from the waist in the sun.

Daddy and Sarah Penguin got a vegan surprise package for dinner (a bar of Manner) as the hut seemed best accommodated to all sorts of visitors.

The dorm for 40+ people did not hold any nasty surprises in store for the sleeping-deprived penguins, thanks to the well-behaved way of the majority of the other sleepers.
