    Am Sonntig ischs am 6:10 uf und a Flughafe Olbia gange wo mer de Dave und d Anna abglaade händ.. 90min für d Heireis und eus stönd morn ca 19h ah..

    Boat Trip to La Maddalena and Caprera

    Today we rented a boat and planned a trip to the Maddalena Islands.

    The islands are home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Tyrrhenian Sea and around Sardinia. Our trip started from Isuledda, and we planned to see Cala Napoletana and some other beaches.

    My brother Dave visited Isola Spargi last year, which lies west of La Maddalena and is also known for its beautiful blue bays. Unfortunately, the weather was windy and the sea was rough, so the woman at the boat rental warned us not to go that way.

    But, as my family is, we obviously knew better.

    Just as she had warned us, we started having problems with the waves and the wind. The rough sea pushed us way too close to the island of Spargi. Eventually, we hit the rocks near the shore and crossed into the safety area where boats aren't allowed.

    My brother's girlfriend and I jumped into the water, grabbed the ropes and basically played Baywatch. We swam to the shore, pulled the boat away from the rocks and managed to get it back out to sea beyond the safety area.

    After that little accident, my father apparently thought: "Well, we almost died — let's go even further into the stormy wind."

    He and my brother wanted to continue around Spargi and straight into the waves, which drove me absolutely crazy. I'm not a bad person, but at that moment I was ready to fight my dad and my brother, kick their asses off the fucking boat and bring us back to La Caprera myself.

    And in the middle of all this chaos, there was one poor dog: Freddy.

    He was tired, wet and scared, and I think he will never set foot on a boat again.

    In the afternoon, it started getting cloudy and windy again, and the way back was full of waves. But somewhere in all of this chaos, I realized how much power the human body can find when we're in danger.

    And apparently, when shit hits the fan, I can be a badass leader.. :)
    We didn't see Cala La Napoletana, but at least it was an adventure.

    Nach ca 80min Fahrt über Stock und Stei hani mi Entschiede, d Üebig abzbreche und rechtig Berchidda und ufd Autobahn via Sassari - Alghero z'fahre. Vo det us ischs de echt schnell gange bis Alghero.
    Eini vode schönere Städtli uf Sardinie mit Katalanischem Ifluss.
    Es isch ned gloge, es eschs die langi Fahrt Wert gsi.
    Zrugg hanis de under 2h gschafft :)

    Roccia Dell'Orso & Palau Day 2&3

    Today we went to Palau in north-eastern Sardinia.

    Palau is the northern gateway to the Costa Smeralda and the door to the La Maddalena Archipelago.

    Close to Palau, there are two tourist attractions worth visiting. One is the Fortezza di Monte Altura, an old military fortress overlooking Palau, built into the granite landscape with incredible views over the coast.

    The other one is Roccia dell’Orso, one of northern Sardinia’s landmarks. It’s a massive granite rock naturally shaped like a bear, overlooking the sea and the La Maddalena Archipelago.

    Both places are beautiful and very affordable. We visited the Fortezza di Monte Altura last year, so this time we decided to visit Roccia dell’Orso.

    Sardinia is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and it never gets boring. I love the food, the people, the weather, the sea, the landscapes and so many other things.

    Sardinia is also home to one of the world’s Blue Zones, where people are known for living exceptionally long lives. I think their mindset, relaxed lifestyle, strong sense of community, good food and beautiful environment might have something to do with it.

    On my way to Sardinia

    My trip started on Friday, driving my car to Livorno and then crossing the sea with my trusted partner, Grimaldi Lines and Cruise & Ferry Center to Olbia, Sardinia.

    Funny how, before I started my Dipl. HF studies, I thought it might be difficult to visit Sardinia because of school… Guess who isn’t in school during the summer months until October. :)

    Anyway, my journey brought me back here. Back to Sardinia.

    I’ve spent many years here on vacation with friends and family. But over the years, something changed. I’m getting older, and I’m learning to be grateful for different things.

    A few years ago, I thought I needed parties, people and all that stuff around me. Today, I’m grateful to simply relax, read a book, take pictures, spend time with my family and create memories in peace and harmony.

    I remember years when I came here with mixed feelings. I was longing for parties and people, and sometimes I was even sad about being alone.

    Today, I’m grateful for that time.

    Because I realized that I need time. Time to become the person I want to be. I’m not looking for someone because I need them. I’m waiting for someone who fits into the life I’m building.

    I need time to create memories. Time to let go of my childhood and learn to be happy with life as it is.

    Sardinia is a place where all these feelings come together and somehow help me find my way back to myself.

    On the ship, I had my own suite. I went to the gym. I spoke to strangers. I bought myself things I normally wouldn’t have bought because people would have told me to leave it — because somehow, everyone always seems to know what’s best for you.
