Tokyo - day 5

Monster street, godzilla store and Shinjuku.
Monster street is a short street with 11 little raccoon dog statues that have different purposes. Like the saints (lost causes, travel, lost items). There was a raccoon for passing tests, good fortune, family issues, etc. Each was outfitted to match is cause. Sorry no pictures
We had a really good lunch at a small place that specialized in grilled eel.
We then worked our way to Shinjuku to find the godzilla store. It was a small corner of a department store but it was packed full of everything godzilla. I really like the action figures that were based on the different godzillas and his adversaries over the years. I wish I could have taken home all of them. Found a cool 3rd floor tiny bar for a cocktail before doing an evening walking tour which was a little different than we expected but we were able to see the Golden Gai bars, Godzilla Rd., the red light district and a couple of shrines. Other stuff too but you'll have to ask. Walked around a little found a dinner spot then headed back.Læs mere
