We had our evening meal at this magnificent venue, Palais la Medina. It was covered in amazing tiled patterns, stucco mouldings and had a great view of the Medina from the roof terrace.

During the meal we were entertained by drummers, belly dancers and a magician. The evening ended bizarrely with what we think was a wedding ceremony for some people from another group.

After breakfast we visited the main entrance to the Royal Palace in Fes.

We then visited the medina, it's the largest car free settlement in the world, housing over 200,000 people in an area of 540 acres, 9000 winding streets, all surrounded by a wall 23km long.

The streets are a labyrinth of narrow alleys, some you have to go sideways to get through. All the time the locals are passing through, sometimes with handcarts or donkeys for heavy items.
