    Masaya Volcano

    Nicaragua has about 20+ volcanoes and naturally one of the most popular thing to do is to hike them. The crater of Masaya volcano can be reached by car. The Spanish settlers used to call this crater "El Diablo" because the indegenous people used to throw women and children down the crater as human sacrifices. The sulfer smell is intense and the view down the crater is amazing. The night tour we went on also took us to see lava cave and bat cave.Read more
