  • Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm

    January 28, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Visiting Ankor Wot today. A religious palace built in the 13th century. No words can describe how grand and sacred this place is. One can feel the energy and stories oozing out of the wall carvings. Ta Prohm is one of the monastery near Angkor Wat that is overgrown by giant trees. This is one of the most popular structure to visit. Absolutely filled with tourists, but also absolutely amazing.Read more

  • Bayon Temple and the Emperor's palace

    January 29, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

One of my favorite structure in Ankor Wat is the Bayon temple that is largely un-restored and filled with large smiling sculptures of gods. The Emperor's palace is also largly un-restored and overgrown with trees. It is intersting to compare these two places with Ankor Wat.Read more

  • Battambang tour part 2

    February 21, 2015 in Cambodia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Part 2 of our tour was the bat cave and the killing cave. During the war, people were beat up and thrown into this cave to left to die. There was a eerie, chilly feeling standing in the cave. Our tour guide was 4 during the war, he told me his story of how they were only eating porridge 3 times a day. His parents once thought he would die from starvation, and made some good food for him as his last meal. Luckily he recovered from eating his last meal and got better. He survived the war by taking care of cows for the troops.Read more
