Vila do Condo

Thanks to an earlier and cooler start, after 10km we Vila do Conde, one of the oldest settlements in northern Portugal.

Its origins date back to the founding of the Portuguese territory; the earliest written document (953), by the Countess Mumadona Dias, refers to the Villa de Comite, in a chart used for the sale of land by Flamula Pelagius, to the Monastery of Guimarães.

An absolutely beautiful little place that was incredibly quiet as we walked in but due to the public holiday, Assumption of Mary, it came to life after mass.Read more
